Flowers Things you didnt know about me

Since this is one of my first posts, I thought it would be a good idea to share some information about who I am and where I come from. This way you can get to know me on a more personal level. If you know me in person you likely know most of these things.

I’m a little shy at first but once you get me talking watch out, I’ll talk your ear off for hours. I’ve never had a problem conversing. I’ll talk to anyone, anywhere about any topic.

So let’s get into it.

1. I have NEVER done anything like this before!

I’ve thought about it many many times. I write in a journal, on scrap paper, in calendars and notebooks. But I have never ever designed and built a web page/blog from the bottom up.

I have to admit it is one of the hardest yet most rewarding/exciting things I have done in a long long time. I’ve been focused before, but not like this. It has consumed my entire mind. I find myself overwhelmed at times but still so drawn into it. I haven’t had that passion for a hobby since I fell in love with Farming.

Which brings me to number 2.

2. My background is in Agriculture and Health Care

I couldn’t decide in high school what I wanted to do/be. I knew I wanted out of the city and that’s about it. Then I met a boy…. ( ahh it always starts that way eh! ) He came from a farm and I fell in love with absolutely everything about it. I never knew growing up I wanted to farm but at that time in my life, everything made sense. I belonged on a farm and my passion for it lead me to accomplish some pretty great things.

After roughly 10 years in the agriculture industry and a few heartbreaks along the way, I felt my life going in a different direction. I was no longer in love with farming, it actually brought tears to my eyes the moment I told my boss I was quitting. I felt defeated. Like my dreams were no longer within reach. And I was hurting.

But I needed a purpose, and I needed to feel like I was making a difference. So back to College I went and into a PSW ( Personal Support Worker ) program. I knew I wanted to work in healthcare but I couldn’t decide where. I fell in love with life all over again. I graduated with honors at the top of my class and I landed a wicked job just down the road from where we were living at the time. I stayed working there up until the birth of our first son.

I would love to return to the health care field once our boys have grown, I like the challenge it brings and I enjoy helping others.

3. I backpacked through New Zealand and Australia

It’s hard to believe I did this roughly 10 years ago now, It still feels like yesterday.

I won’t say it was all sunshine and roses, some days were hard – I got homesick at the beginning and there were days we were eating nothing but pears out of a can. However, on this trip I learned so much about life and about who I am. The memories made will last forever, from working on a bunch of different farms just to scrape together enough money to get to the next town, to camping out on some of the most beautiful beaches in the world for two months straight. ( It was heaven! ) This part of my life had a huge impact on me.

4. I LOVE Tattoos and Piercings

I got my first tattoo and piercing at 16 and I haven’t looked back since. The only piercings I’m rocking now are ears and nose, but I do have a bunch of ink to document my journey over the past 30 plus years.

I have no immediate plans to stop getting tattoos and once Baby A is done nursing I plan to finish my sleeve.

5. I am Obsessed with calendars/planners ( is there a specific term for this?? )

Seriously though, how many fricken planners can one woman have… I’ve lost count. Let’s see, I’ve got one hanging in the kitchen, my ” mom ” calendar which I got for my birthday, my pocket one that is usually is in my purse/diaper bag and my brand new self-designed one page weekly survival planner I’ve just created to help me tie them all together!!!

6. I am a huge wanna-be NERD!

I love everything from World of Warcraft to Lord of the Rings. Star Wars or Trek. Marvel / DC. And I love love love BOOKS!! ( Almost as much as I love coffee ) Coffee Infused Dad and I have books everywhere between the two of us. We need our own little library for them, right now they’re scattered between every room in our house. Some of them I’ve read and some I’ve never even opened but if there is one thing I will never feel guilty about buying and that are books!

One of the biggest things I miss doing now that I am a mama is reading. My boys allow me zero time for it… unless I squeeze it in during nap time, but I always seem to find 101 other things I need to be doing…

there you have it, 6 super awesome things you didn’t know about me.

Are we BFFs yet ??
